About me personally, I am interested in many things – sport, travel, my work to name a few. Most of all I am interested in people. Their lives, stories, what I can learn from others and perhaps what others can learn from me, communicating and interacting with people is really what life is all about.

So, the big question: What will you see here on my blog. Well, anything that is connected with english language training, giving presentations, executive coaching, current news or business topics or things that may just be interesting. Westerwelle’s refusal to speak english at a press conference, Oettinger speaking english in Berlin, the financial crisis, the volcanic ash cloud, a great (or not so great) presentation, the benefits or latest developments in the world of executive coaching or anything else might get a mention.

Like most Australians, I love sport. There are some big sporting events coming up, probably the biggest is the World Cup starting in 2 weeks. I am of course excited that Australia qualified again. I still remember how we survived the “group of death” at the 2006 World Cup here in Germany. We beat Japan, lost to Brazil (like most teams) and then drew with Croatia to move into the next round. We then lost to Italy, after they were given a penalty with 8 seconds remaining! This year, we are in group D, with my second favourite team – Germany, Ghana and Serbia. It won’t be easy, but I think we can make it to the next round again. And of course, I expect Germany to be playing when the final arrives. As Gary Lineker, the retired English striker once said:

"Soccer is a game for 22 people that run around, play the ball, and one referee who makes a slew of mistakes, and in the end Germany always wins."

We’ll see what happens! Hopefully people wont honk their car horns all night after each game like in 2006!!!. 

Finally, I aim to keep the blog interesting and informative and hope it helps you and me connect a little more to our potential. I’m no “tekkie” (describe as “Someone who loves their computer more than life itself”) so I look forward to your feedback and help in making the website and blog as good as it can be.
